Das englischsprachige Blog Vice bringt ein Interview mit dem Schauspieler Rutger Hauer, bekannt unter anderem aus dem Science Fiction – Klassiker “Blade Runner” von 1982. Nun könnte man annehmen, dass Schauspielern und Coaching wenig verwandte Professionen sind. Mr. Hauer belehrt uns eines Besseren. Über Schauspielerei generell sagt er:

But there are 100,000 ways to do it. I’m not going to tell people that such and such ways are the only ways to do it.

Wenn das mal kein waschechter Coaching-Ansatz ist. Bei der Beschreibung von Los Angeles wird er schon mal grundsätzlich philosophisch-reflektierend – ebenfalls eine wertvolle Coach-Eigenschaft:

The people there all think they should have what they want to have, and that they should be whatever they think they should be. I don’t understand that, because I think that makes you very unhappy. You should never have exactly what you want. Wanting that seems so stupid to me.

In einem früheren Posting habe ich bereits herausgefunden, dass Erwartungen mit die größten Glücksverhinderer sein können. Ob Rutger Hauer die managerSeminare liest? I don’t think so, pal.

Nächste Frage: Was er denn seinen Schülern grundsätzlich beizubringen versuche?

That they should follow their feelings. What I see a lot of times is that the brain power holds a lot of people back. They don’t follow their hearts and intuition. I try and teach them to do that in my master classes.

Wieder weiß ich nicht: Spricht er über Schauspielerei oder Coaching? Mein Respekt vor dem Mann steigt immer mehr. Und seine Worte als sterbender Roy in Blade Runner bleiben sowieso unvergesslich: “All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in the rain.”
